Martin Luther King Jr. Waits

Here Father:

Let justice come--
Cruelty rises around me, I will bear it no more.

What good are fantasies in days of nightmares?

Let me give my children a more beautiful world--
I want to restore what was lost.

Let character, not color, be the measure of a man--
for compassion is the richest color of our souls.

Change will happen today; it may be small,
so open my eyes to every detail of your movement
in this broken, waking world.
