Bride and Groom

My heart and my eyes are fixed, it’s true.
Come to me quickly when you get your cue.
Run at me whatever you do.
I’ll run, I’ll sprint, let my face turn blue--
climb mountains, jump cliffs to get to you.
I’m surprised by this longing, this longing that grew--
I thought it’d die, but it keeps being made new.
Worship’s a silence with desire pulsed through.
Worship’s a sealing that’s stronger than glue.
Worship’s a shouting between me, between you.
Worship’s a weapon that us both will undo.

On Belay

One of the best activities to take at Camp is High Ropes. Leaping off platforms, rushing down ziplines, and walking on wobbly ropes ladders 30 feet above the ground are all incredible ways to push your way out of fear. And the only way to ever get off the first element is trust.

You slip on a helmet and a harness, and another person secures you to a rope.

Before you take your first step up, you call out, "Climber ready."
Your spotter says, "On Belay."
"Climbing."
"Climb away."

When you're on belay, you have nothing to fear. You can fall but only a few feet. You can jump because your spotter will catch you. The key is that you have to trust your spotter's training and careful, protecting eye. The more you trust the spotter, the more you realize you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. The more you dare to take risks.

God, you're my champion

This is my new favorite attribute of God.
