Rebuke

Diamonds only form with extreme pressure and heat--if there isn't enough of either, the carbon becomes graphite (the worthless material pencils are made of). These jewels form deep in the earth and can only escape when a volcano explodes. Then an artist has to slowly cut away the impurities to make it valuable enough for a bride.

I do not understand a distant God: I understand one who presses down and cuts away so that I can be pure. It is better to be yelled at than ignored. When God speaks rightly into my life, he silences me like he did Job. There is no argument left, just a shame that makes me want to die. But he died so I don't have to, and he was shamed so that I can have dignity.

Beautiful and profound. An excellent picture of God's true pursuing and heavy love.
